Lash Artist Entrepreneur

I do a fair number of shows interviewing 'important' people, but I really love to share the stories of people who follow a different life course.

Henrietta Orosz came to Luxembourg many years ago (from Hungary) with her economics degree and a job in marketing, but realised very soon that such a working life would destroy her slowly. Accidentally, and for herself in the first instance, she trained as a make-up artist and then, extremely specifically as a lash artist. She then took the leap to become a beauty entrepreneur.
Ok, I know at this point I may have lost some of you who either don't know what a lash artist is, or can't believe it is a career. Well, it's much more than just a service-industry career. Henrietta has gone on to become a global judge, won many prestigious competitions herself, written a book, developed a new technology, runs training camps, and also has her own group of clients.
Henrietta speaks of how she is not taken seriously in Luxembourg, and indeed quite a bit of the beauty industry is not taken seriously in Luxembourg despite evidently being a huge global economic pillar (I just did a quick search and found a McKinsey report on this from 2025). And so I am very happy to shine a light of the work of Henrietta to inspire others to follow the creative work that brings them joy.
I'm sure we all meet people / friends / family who tell us how they do not like their job at all, but they're too scared to leave for many reasons: they don't know what to do, they have the 'golden handcuffs' situation of a good income and bills to pay or a family to support, etc.
Henrietta doesn't ever lean on this, and only mentions it in passing to encourage others to be brave, but she lost her mother as a teenager, and so grew up knowing the shortness of life. Thankfully many of us don't have to go through that pain, but perhaps we can glean a sense of why people make their choices.
